Welcome
Roxby Downs Kindergarten is a Department of Education & Children's Services site.
The centre is located between the Community Library and Roxby Downs Community Child Care Centre. The centre is also in close proximity to Roxby Downs Area School.
The grounds and facilities are aesthetically pleasing and the children have the opportunity to engage with our interactive garden centre.
At Roxby Downs Kindergarten we believe that Early Childhood is the foundation on which children build their future. We recognise it has importance in itself - beyond a preparation for adolescence and adulthood.
Our core values encompass all children learning in an inclusive, supportive, enjoyable and challenging environment through PLAY. We implement responsive programs that focus on improving wellbeing and learning outcomes for all children.
Please contact us for any further information or to arrange a time to visit our Kindergarten.

Session Times
Children aged four years and above are entitled to attend the preschool program for the equivalent of up to four sessions per week for up to four terms prior to starting school.
Children who are Aboriginal or under the Guardianship of the Minister for Families and Communities are entitled to attend up to four preschool sessions per week from three years of age.
Early enrolment is available for children identified with additional needs who would benefit from an early introduction to preschool. Early entry provided one preschool session per week two terms prior to commencement of the eligible year of starting preschool. This decision is made at the discretion of the centres Director.
Extended enrolment may be offered when it is agreed that extra time will advantage a child educationally.
A Pre-entry service is provided which means children may attend preschool for one session per fortnight before starting the full preschool program.
Our Preschool sessions operate Monday to Thursday. We ensure children can access their entitlement of sessions by offering four half days.
| Morning Sessions | 8.30am – 11.15am, Monday to Thursday |

| Afternoon Sessions: | 12.15pm – 3.00pm, Monday to Thursday |
Parent Information
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia which is the new national early learning framework for children from birth to five years of age.
Through the Framework's five learning goals, our staff will assist children in developing:
- a strong sense of their identity
- connections with the world
- a strong sense of wellbeing
- confidence and involvement in their learning
- and effective communication skills.
The Early Years Learning Framework describes childhood as a time of belonging, being and becoming.
We also provide play based curriculum that also includes intentional teaching opportunities.
