When can my child start preschool?
If your child turns four before 1 May, they will start preschool on the first day of term one.
If your child turns four on or after 1 May, they will start preschool on the first day of term one the following year.
The minimum age for starting preschool will be three years and eight months.
Children who are Aboriginal or under the Guardianship of the Minister for Families and Communities are entitled to attend up to four preschool sessions per week from three years of age.
Early enrolment may be available for children identified with additional needs available for children identified with additional needs who would benefit from an early introduction to preschool. Early entry provided one preschool session per week two terms prior to commencement of the eligible year of starting preschool. This decision is made at the discretion of the centres Director.
Extended enrolment may be offered when it is agreed that extra time will advantage a child educationally.
Our Preschool sessions operate Monday to Friday. We ensure children can access their entitlement of sessions by offering 5 full catch-up days during the year (dates to be advised).
